Protho Nucleus

Octet / Jazz

Protho-Nucleus is a celebration of a birth of a new family of musical instruments – helicons. The instruments have been created to follow the idea of project initiator Igor Krivokapič by Melton (Meinl Weston). The first concert of Protho-Nucleus was held at the Slovenian venue Kino Šiška, with a group of 4 helicons, 2 saxophones, a vibraphone and a drum set.

The initiative and the support for the idea of Protho-Nucleus came from Goethe Institut, joined by Institut Francais Charles Nodier, the Swiss Embassy in Ljubljana and the JSKD.

The music is written by the composer Izidor Leitinger. The titles of the pieces are:
